TONY GUERRERO ENSEMBLES

Tony's long year career as a recording and concert artist has seen him releasing 15 solo albums to both critical acclaim and a worldwide audience. He is a Grammy nominated producer with well over 100 albums to his credit and, as a player, has recorded on nearly 400 projects.

His resume includes artists as diverse as Paul McCartney, Brian Wilson, Dick Van Dyke, John Tesh, Jane Lynch, Freddie Hubbard, Joe Sample, Tom Scott and countless others.

Over the years he has developed several unique and varying ensembles to highlight his love of many the styles of jazz. Here are some short examples of his current ensembles:

THE ABRAZO PROJECT

8-piece Instrumental Ensemble

Vocalist an optional add-on

ABRAZO is Tony Guerrero’s passion-project, a 7-8 piece ensemble that features mostly original music with powerful Latin/Brazilian rhythms, melodic Spanish/Italian-infused melodies and wonderful jazz sensibilities. The unique frontline of combination of Flugelhorn, Saxophone and Cello (and occasionally, Vocals) offers a unique and moving sound. Shows in Southern California have consistently sold out and audiences have responded with a deep appreciation for this unique ensemble.

WEST COAST SOUND

6-piece Instrumental Ensemble

Vocalist an optional add-on

WEST COAST SOUND is Tony Guerrero’s tribute to the West Coast jazz movement of the 1950s, a music style that came out of the bebop era but was unique for it’s laid-back, cool approach. Artists like Chet Baker, Gerry Mulligan, Shorty Rogers, The Lighthouse All-Stars, and more, personified this movement and influenced generations of musicians to come. This 6-pc ensemble features a frontline of Trumpet, Saxophone and Trombone, with tight harmonies and interweaving counterpoints, as well as some dynamic improvisation from some of L.A.’s most seasoned jazz stars.
