CHURCH BIOGRAPHY

Tony Guerrero has become established as a composer, producer, author and speaker in the world of Christian Worship Music. He has spoken at various Worship Conferences, most notably the Purpose Driven Church Conference & Festival, The National Worship Leaders Conference, The Gospel Music Association’s Music In The Rockies, SCEA's InSync. He continues to travel the country as a speaker and consultant with church worship teams. His articles on music and worship are published monthly in Worship Leader Magazine and his book “Attracting Quality Musicians” was released in 2005 to favorable press reviews. Tony has also become in demand as a session keyboardist and trumpet player and has produced some very well received CDs for various artists.

His songs have been recorded by various worship teams and are used every weekend in churches around the world. The song "(I Will Not Be) Shaken" has received substantial airplay around the country and was recently chosen as a lead song for Promise Keepers '04. His Christmas song "This Baby Boy" is quickly becoming a classic and has been used steadily around the country for various Christmas events and was performed in Carnegie Hall with a full orchestra and 300-voice choir in November, 2015. In 2004, Word Music released a choral/orchestra version of the song for large group settings, and in 2005, Saddleback Church presented “The Journey”, a Christmas musical written by Tony and Shawn King that played to thousands (for info, click here).

As a musician or producer, Tony has worked with with CeCe Winans, Morris Chapman, Tommy Walker, Darlene Zschech, Paul Baloche, Crystal Lewis, Sarah Kelly, Jon Gibson, Chris Falson, Phil Keaggy, Jadon Lavik, Adam Watts, Rick Muchow, Ken Reynolds, Denny Correll, Pete Shambrook, Bryan Duncan and many more.

Tony served as a Music Director and as the Director of Creative Arts at Saddleback Church (Rick Warren, pastor & author of "The Purpose Driven Life") from 1999-2010. Aside from weekly musical duties for the Praise Gospel services, Tony was instrumental in in designing and producing the hugely popular annual Purpose Driven Worship Conference & Festival as well as dozens of original theater and concert events. He has also helped plan and produce several concert series and events. His past church staff experiences include Colonial Bible Church in Tustin, California and Marina Ranch Church in Dana Point, California.

 

In 2015, Tony joined the staff of Hope International University in Fullerton, CA as an adjunct "Worship Coach" and Songwriting Instructor where he works with students on developing their band-leading, worship-leading and songwriting skills.
